Comment notification from photos which are not mine

Last couple of days I've been receiving email comment notifications from photos I *commented on*. Usually I receive notifications from comments on *my photos only* -- and that's probably the way I would like things to remain. Have you guys changed how email notifications work?
Maybe I wouldn't be so upset if said comments weren't spam, but sadly they are:
