What's the story on PolarRose?
Their site is shut down, and the connection from 23hq is gone. I realize they have been acquired by Apple, but does that mean the have discontinued their service entirely?
If so, are there any other plans of integrating face recognition in 23hq?
A Merry Christmas to you all.

Hey Erik,
That's pretty much the story -- in fact, the Polar Rose service was shut down prior to them being acquired. We haven't looked into replacements for face recognition, and to be honest we didn't see much interest in the feature even in the period when we offered PR.
Best,
Steffen

Ok. Well, compared to tags, I really liked having PolarRose automatically add notes to the faces on 23hq.
Maybe the reason why PR didn't get much interest on 23hq was the fact that it was too tightly knit with Facebook -- at least for my taste. I wasn't interested in posting on Facebook each time I identified someone in my photos, so I had to manually disable it in the PR Facebook app each time. That was really annoying. Apart from that, PR was really cool. :)

I think Erik is right, I don't have Facebook and it's the reason why I've never used PolarRose. But even if I had Fb I don't think I would like an application that interacts with it like Pr used to do.
