BUTTERFLIES

Of late increasingly visible in the very south of Germany, although it looks like something out of the tropics. If humans are polite and careful it allows close up watching very well but it may not be prodded to move into a more desired angle to the light. It usually is not one perching on flowers, comes only into our range for muddpuddling in rocky track crossings in the woods. Of course it absolutely hates to be passed by carelessly and fast, especially when hit by a busy shaddow it will flutter off at once. So it is unlikely for a mountain biker or jogger minding their clock to ever get more than a glimpse from afar. I manage a sighting or two and record shots most years but rarely a whole series of photos good enough to show off several, usually because of some dolt racing by in less than 3m distance whilst I inch myself towards the critter.
