Normally Just a Trickle Beneath Autumn Leaves
▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ Delaware Water Gap Nat'l Recreation Area, Pike County, PA. Full spectrum color, high definition photo… ✍ Devastating Spring flooding and storms have made the national park trails in this area impassable -- officially, the area was closed by the national parks service, but they cannot limit access from all the woodland trails one can use to access waterfalls all along Dingmans Creek. The photographed falls haven't had this much water volume flowing over them in over 50yrs. -- they are normally just a tiny volume of water, barely visible, flowing beneath the forest's carpet of leaves. Access below this point wasn't possible as mentioned storms took out the bridge over the gorge... Couldn't even get close enough to eliminate the fallen tree from the shot either.... This area will be officially closed off for years to come as all the boardwalks have been damaged by water and/or fallen trees. |
