Dwarf Iris / Zwergiris / Iris reticulata J. S. Dijt

Next to a wayside shrine south of Ailingen. I had no idea there are that early cultivars, blossoming March 1st! And in such a pretty warm purple! Lukily the proud farmwife was around and told me all about the bulps including the shop where she got them.

The dwarf ones come in some nice colors, too -- blues, yellows, white... My fav. cultivar is Iris Reticulata 'Katharine Hodgkin'.
Don't think I've come across one with this color scheme. Very pretty! Nice find & capture =)
