What does the mirror really show?
The MS Baden with a Zeppelin NT / Die MS Baden mit einem Zeppelin NT

Listed and protected as historic ship finally! She is a pretty old lady and has seen a lot. She looks especially huge and regal as the airship is much furter away. / Endlich sicher unter Denkmalschutz! Sie ist so eine huebsche alte Dame die viel erlebt hat. Das weit entferne Luftschiff in Hintergrund laesst sie noch groesser und imposanter erscheinen.

Before ships got to ridiculous proportions...

Well, here on the lake it is kind of difficult to put really huge ships in, and fortunately there is no serious waterway connections to anything further away than Schaffhausen downriver only possible to do for boats that are smal, low and flexible.

Still, someone had to try. The thing is called MS Sonnenkoenigin (Sun Queen) and it belongs to some Austrian event company. It has 5 decks, can serve 1000 people at once and is just the size to fit into our main harbour in a maner it does not block the ferry traffic. At that it looks like something from space, metallic gray and mirrored glass all over. Fortunatly it shows up at Friedrichshafen not very often.
