A mine? How amusing! I thought more this perfect one is like a dart target...
Thankfully we got no open mines in plain sight up where our 2ha are located. Further down in the valley alas they busyly dig for gravel and sand, the grey gold....
We just keep the lumber plot up for later generations. We down trees already dead or marked as having the bug (Yps typhographus) and give the most part of the number for free to relatives with open chimney or sell by far below hours work value to a neighbor that trades with such just to get rid of it and we replant with a plan where we must do all the work or pay for it to be done but get all the baby trees (slow growing, decidous and native mix only, of course) from the state for free. Lumber in very smal style is nothing that makes any money at all, unlike the open air mining, it just helps with the CO2 and some theoretically comecrial use tagged extra habitat for wild critters and humans walking about on public ways to enjoy.
