Boots? :o) They belong to the Staghorn 'shrooms so others see them as male deer with the right side up.

Hi Sonja, I asked the Nederlandse Mycologische Vereniging for help at the determination of Xylaria hypoxylon - questionmark!!!
For shure, is is the Xylaria hypoxylon. So no questionmark anymore.

Ah great that yours are the same as mine then. I did not know if I can conclude on dutch flatland fungi just from similiar looks to specimen like this growing in steep slopes of the alpine foothills. I once hat someone help me ID previous shots in a similar location like this from the Argenbuehl range, a person who had studied about shrooms and lichens and such and used to help people on a larger photo site . By myself, I have very little knowledge about this mysterious lifeforms. :o(
