Unusual 4-turret design to the "gate".... Neat clock, too. The ironwork, though barely visible, is intriguing as well... Nice capture!

Sheet metal gargoyles are typical for early eaves gutter systems from the same, especially with helmet roofs or mansards covered with the same material, often copper green with age. It is true, this tower has rather cute ones.

To me they are more like deep sea angler fish, although I daubt we had preperates of such when they where originally added...
Let's have a better look at one of those cuties.....

In late gothic and early resaissance it was not so uncommon, especially when there was a wardens permanent living quarters upstairs, although this roof with it's widening organic almost baroque forms the gate tower in Wangen show is not as clear and pure. The one on Kaufbeuren is superior when it comes to show an example of a surviving watchtower with 5 roofs.
