✎ The parish was established in 1879. The Gothic Revival church building was erected in 1906 to the designs of the esteemed Roman Catholic church-building architectural firm of Schickel & Ditmars. In recent years, the church has been merged with two others and is officially known as the Church of St. Monica / St. Elizabeth of Hungary / St. Stephen of Hungary, but most people still call it St. Monica's and the name on the façade of the church hasn't been changed.
