✎ The 510ft. tall, 39-story Secretariat Building designed by Brazilian architect Oscar Niemeyer and Swiss-French architect Le Corbusier and by the architectural firm Harrison & Abramovitz. The iconic complex, overlooking the East River, has served as the official headquarters of the United Nations since its completion in 1952. The Secretariat Building houses the administrative functions of the UN. The site of the UN headquarters has extraterritoriality status while still remaining under the jurisdiction and laws of the United States.
