Odd white Knappweed / Merkwuerdige Flockenblume

Albinistic C. scabiosa? It looked as tall in the habitus and was in an almost barren patch, but those thin scruffy petals.... / Albinistische C. scabiosa? Sie machte generell den einduck und war im richtigen, fast kahlen Habitat, aber die Bluetenblaetter waren alle ganz fein und duenn...

Looks like the introduced (invasive) Centaurea Diffusa aka White or Diffuse Knapweed.

Thanks! Can't find it however in the pdf list of plants supposed to be in the Rhine Delta. Truth to be told, before googling the binominal forced with "Deutschland" I was not able to find any european website at all, every relevance slot clogged by american websites about invasives. Seems some plant equivalent to starlings....
Next I found out up north in Brandenburg it got endangered status.... ack!!!
At least I got a german common name now, Sparrige Flockenblume. If I cant find anything about it in the Lake Constance area, I will have to bug the local NABU plant expert why it is not discussed and what else I might have found....

They may not know it's there.... Given that it's not a native and gets introduced randomly --- originally thought to have escaped its native habitat via alfalfa shipments to the North Americas & Europe. It's much more common in N. America than Europe, but you will find it in Germany in all sorts of unexpected places. There is no native Centaurea with white flowers in Europe.

Hope you got pics. of the whole plant if you're gonna check with the local experts. They won't be able to tell you much with any certainty without seeing the foliage. I know what it is only from experience, but a scientists measure of proof is gonna be a lot higher than mine ;)

No, I have no wide angle pics from the side. It rained and I used my body as umbrella for the camera. Karl was anyway anoyed I stopped with the car almost in sight. I took only the two pics of the purple blossom and the unusual white one next to it, stuffed the camera back into the parka behind the zipper and weasled after him as fast as possible. LOL
