Gondola Harbour / Gondelhafen

Actually there are no gondolas or anything romantic with style, just colourful plastic fun boats to rent, boards for stand up paddling and electro motor boats too, but mostly assorted car-shaped objects to move with pedals / Gondeln kann man da allerdings nicht mieten, oder irgendwas romantisches mit Stil, nur lustig buntes Zeug vom Stehpaddelbrettle zum Elekromotorboot, aber vorallem viele verschiedene Treetboote in Autoform.

Nice capture.... I particularly like the blue/teal house in the background =) Happy New Year!

That should be the first on the north side of Spitalgasse across from the remaining piece of Buchhorn city wall no idea how old/new it is. On ground floor is a store for formal man's wear I think and as far as I know there is no historical marker or listing. The colour is unusual, to say the least, but it somehow matches the marina in front of the boat rental with the tarps on the smal boats -- although the high amount of teal/turquise is about to vanish there again, silver and ecru seem the fashion colours of the day now.

Interessante plaat jammer dat het wat donker is daar....en een auto op een roeiboot is mogelijk als het een speelgoedauto is

Guess the translation engine did not get anything correctly.

Unfortunately my dutch is next to non-existent.

Sonja, he's commenting on the red boat in the shape & detail of a little car and the fact that the photo makes the place seem dark --- probably due to it being underexposed.

Ah, okay. I was well aware of that the said something about a toy-car and rowboat but not what exactly. What the translator tool made of it had no sense to it. The grammer was impossible meaning nothing at all. That happens once in a while, as those tools are unforgiving of slang or typos and generally are quite limited as soon the berliz mainstream topics are left. Dutch and German are just far enough appart to get into trouble discussing, as we can guess very easyly about what things the other speaks, but not the full sense, context and spirit of all phrases. This is why I am cautious to talk to the dutch in german or evaluate what they said in their language. If they had any english in school at all, I think we are better off discussing anything more complicated than "Hey there, great shot!" in what is native language of neither to not provoke grave missunderstandings.

As to the exposure:
I am always afraid to blow my white clouds more than to slightly underexpose the rest. Henche f-stop to -2 first. Perhaps I should have edited this more and lightened the midtones considerably in my photo software. But then it might look even more HDR-like. I like to create those sculpted looking clouds, but no artificial looking building and object outlines. It's a quandry. :o(
