Beautiful =) I posted a similar looking wild or botanical tulip captured at a botanical garden .... The color pattern is identical, except where yours is yellow mine is creamy-white =) They're, imo, prettier than the fancy hybrids any day.... Nice find and capture!

Laura, Tarda or Dasystemon Tulips (those yellow wild ones) are sold in the USA from comercial growers, looking rather close to wild forms, like this:

And they are rather easy backyard flowers to grow from bulps unless you live in some extreme climate.

Andy, really, in Germany you get the same product at every Dehner or Obi market in the spring bulp aisle! I just looked for an US seller and grower as Laura stated so seriously she wants some and I am not sure at all how the laws would be with bulp shipping via an online seller to american endcustormers from over here. Fact is, I got Tulipa tardas with the white tips in my yard for many years, the german comercial name is Tulpenstern.
