Nice ironwork on the underside of the bridge....

It is no bridge, is a private pier potruding from the elevated castle over the promenade into the lake, and alas the ironwork is in a bad shape.
The promenade got restored a few years ago to the handrails original ornate state and several other details all around got simplified and modernized to be more sturdy, secure and comfortably accessible than ever , but the pier's centerpiece is still it's rusty old self.

Pier, bridge, tomato, tomáto ;) It is more bridge in appearance than pier =P

Bridges usually connect something. This is just sort of an ornate long balcony with electric lamps and flowerpots on it that leads on the elevation of the castle yard a few metres into the shallow bay and that was it.

You're not one for humor in comments, are ya? ;P

A bridge connects to things, true --- unless what was meant to be a bridge was either incomplete (as sometimes happened when money ran out during construction) or has partially collapsed....

A pier is meant for boat access....

A viewing platform is what you have here.... Serves no other purpose than seeing stuff from it --- usually scenery. Because, let's face it, the rich just couldn't get a good enough view from their ivory towers around these lakes & other famous waterways in Europe... They had to additionally build viewing platforms which, generally, only they had access to.

So there ya go.... The rundown sans the humor which seems to be taken for ignorance rather than a funny way to look at something =P

Oh, so it was a joke. Sometimes I do not understand jokes that easyly, sorry. I took it more as sort of subtle wondering why I have not submitted it to the bridge forum or somesuch than a mere joke.

=D It's all good.... I know some euphemisms and sarcasm can get lost in translation -- as the saying goes ;)
