Everyone in this photo looks very interesting especially that fellow in the background contemplating his equipment. But what I want to know is what does the man on the far right do? That squiggly thing on the end of a stick also looks like it might be a low ranking job - correct?

The contemplater you'll recognize from my other photo as the one who keeps the fire lit (that's why he's standing far away). I think the squiggly stick is used to pull debris out of the canon after it's fired. Sounds like only one step up from jamming the gunpowder into the canon. Mr. Redbeard is the instruction shouter and Mr. Bluecoat is obviously the highest ranking since he's just standing there doing nothing (he doesn't even have to shout).
