The zoo by the sea in Bremerhaven is a zoo specialized on nordic animals. It is the smallest public zoo in Germany.

Openings:

  • 1912/13: opening of first north sea aquarium,
  • 24. June 1928: opening of the "Tiergrotten" (animal grotto),
  • 27. March 2004: reopening after total modification

Residents: about 200 animals

Entrance fee (August 2008)

  • Adults: 6,50 Euro
  • Children (4–14 years): 3,50 Euro
  • Students: 4,50 Euro
  • Dogs: 1,00 Euro (allowed, if on short leash)
