This is Coniston Water in the UK's Lake District. It's probably not so different to the places you know :-)

Helen, please dont reduce poor Caspar David to landscapess with some dude from behind in it. My favorites by him mostly make do without that "signature" prop.
Offhand this one reminds me ( compsition, colours and such ) most of the Tree of the Crows. Just that the crows are not around, probaply still scavenging somewhere else. :o)
