Rosacea is a visible life long, chronic skin condition that causes embarrassing facial redness, uncomfortable inflamed lesions and bumps, spider veins and dry, patchy skin. In more advanced cases, the skin on the nose may thicken and become bulbous, and eye irritation may develop. Rosacea affects 16 million adults aged 30-60 in the United States. That number represents approximately half of that demographic, making rosacea a significantly common condition for which there is no known cure. There are likely millions more Americans with undiagnosed rosacea, as the sporadic nature of the condition may make sufferers reluctant to seek immediate help.
Rosacea can significantly affect self-confidence and even cause people to avoid social situations or cancel social engagements altogether. This is why proper treatment and skin care along with the avoidance of rosacea triggers are so critical. Prudent medical practice would suggest the use of a multi-functional product that effectively treats the main symptoms of rosacea (redness, lesions and spider veins) while providing the much need moisturization for healthier looking skin and minimizing the exposure to unnecessary chemicals which can further irritate compromised skin.
The infographic below highlights the causes and symptoms of the rosacea as well as rosacea treatment options and common triggers.
