Quick&dirty try for http://meetthegimp.org/episode-133-the-power-of-a-book/
The original shot was made by Rolf.
As my comment in the show notes didn't get through, here is how to do this: Develop the photo twice. First time, select the correct white balance (Cloudy) and automatic or no exposure correction. On the second run, open it as layer, choose a lower temperature color (3000K), -½EV and 50% reduced saturation. Sharpen the first layer and blur the second. Add a white layer mask to the second layer and create a radial black to white gradient centered on the right edge of the book.
