The Salt Building, Vancouver

With the building of the Olympic athlete's village and so on, an industrial section of
older Vancouver was extensively re-developed. This was one of the heritage sites to
be deemed worthy of being retained.

This was a fun day, a lady saw me taking pictures and asked if I would like to try from a
better vantage point - meaning the rooftop patio of a building she was overseeing. This
was a very welcome offer and much too good an opportunity to pass up. Unfortunately,
the view from their rooftop did not live up to its billing, although I was still very grateful
to her for the opportunity. At the time, the site was still fairly unpopular due to some very
considerable uncertainty about the management and infra-structure in the area, but all
of these issues seem to have been finally settled - so I am sure these streets are probably
now jammed with parked cars!
