Eight days and at least 79,000 visitors made Roskilde Festival 2006 the biggest of its kind in Europe.

More than 170 bands, loads of exciting performances and a multitude of art experiences have created a festival so successful that we will not hesitate to place it among some of the greatest festivals ever. A new swimming lake proved to be a success – helped well on the way by the excellent weather. And a new lounge stage called Bar’n mesmerized many visitors with an intense atmosphere and laid back music.

On the festival’s seven stages, the audience has experienced a diversity of tight beats, heavy riffs and unruly guitars from every corner of the musical world map. The huge variety and the Roskilde audience’s insatiable curiosity solidy Roskilde Festival’s unique position as one of the world’s leading festivals – and one of the biggest Danish cultural manifestations."
