RobotChallenge 2006
March 11th, Siemens Forum Wien. The third austrian RobotChallenge. Around 9am we approached the location, confident Gaston would be a nice diversion from pure sports for everybody.
... it was much easier to process the fact a former teacher from 20 years ago was one of the Jurors ...
... and the surprise that my old pal Karli Piswanger was presenting the show - hadn't seen him in ages! and had no idea he was working for BRZ, RobotChallenge's main sponsor!
All in all, the event was much more successful for SHIFZ than for others, like Philip Tiefenbacher, whose bot couldn't handle the amount of light.
So did i mention we worked hard for our wieners?
Vali and Stefan teamed up to handle the gigantic JVC Okto-Cam to capture a lot of footage. Frank came too late to actually prepare the racing Irish Coffee. But he wore his shirt, so he too earned his weeny. From left to right: Chris, Frank, Vali, robo-kid whose name i forgot. In the late afternoon the schedule continued with a symposium.
The pic below shows Adrian Dabrowski to the left - he's one of the organizers of RobotChallenge and also a valued participant at ROBOEXOTICA and he's also onboard SHIFZ's SMS-bot Team. To the right: Chris Veigl. Between them: anonymous quintessenz-member.
