Jose Carlos Soto December 27, 2022, 10:54 AM
As I commented in other posts, shortly before the Christmas holidays, I finished the work on Carpa 1918 and got everything ready for publication this Tuesday. As announced in one of the intros, this volume will be the second of the largest issues this year. In the next spring the third of them will appear. Definitely, it would be better for Analia to comment on this work from one of the intros:

Due to various unimportant bureaucratic problems, Paquita and Dorita cannot appear accredited on the welcome page of this edition, which is why Soto decided not to give up their work together and, although, I agree not to resort to their status to avoid controversies. and useless conflicts with the secondary mandate, he made it very clear from the beginning that Paquita would direct the edition and Dorita would be the main person in charge of the artistic direction.
The three of them decided to apply to this Carpa 1918 what they define as a placid aesthetic evolution of their artistic approaches. It was the right moment, announced by the sun of this warm autumn, for the three of them to continue walking through the city, as if time, gracefully stopped, had allowed them to meet, at the beginning of the millennium, and go down the street towards the radio, perform the program and dine and drink where ever, while the cards ran out or the reels were changed one after the other.
For the first time in a long time, our two editors managed to tear Jose Carlos off the computer screen. The fact that the mushroom season was such a poor season in the nearby forests made it easier for the three of them to meet at the old family address one happy November morning to spend the day and night in the city, so that we can go to fool, and start a passionate photographic journey that will adequately prepare them to face this new volume of our collections.
The working techniques of my three editors never cease to amaze me. In the first place, they decided to go to Ciudad Meridiana and from there through old paths to reach Torre Baro. Although years ago, Jose Carlos was able to walk to Cerdanyola, they considered that to compress the entire experience into 24 hours it would be better to go down to Via Julia to have lunch at Count Dracula and continue the trip to Sant Andreu, walk towards Besos and along " Pueblo Nuevo" arrive at Plaça de les Gloríes, a small terrace to plan the second part of your trip and escape like the plague from the Sagrada Familia.
Although apparently, the city had not changed, nothing is like before. The author did not fail to point out old shelters that have disappeared and been replaced by the same universal monotony, so, to pause the artistic action, go to "El Roble" and after lunch, go down Paseo de Gracia, reach the old headquarters of "Espai Miau” and continue to the radio station to close the afternoon, perhaps time will have mercy and the bullfighters' are still open.

“La Bohemia”, “La Moritz” and “Géminis” closed, so before dinner go up to Montjuic Park, the scene of endless botanical days in joyful sessions in May. Through the Polvorín to Zona Franca and arrive at Plaza Huesca and the first radio station, Calle Tarragona, Plaza España and close at the “Ramon” bar: Morro without salt and pepper and some other little things.
At that time our feet can't take it anymore and by the time we go up to “Barbara Ann”, the final closing of this unusual artistic action, our three friends decide, as a last gesture, to erase all their cards and go up Entenza street holding hands. hand.
They leave behind three anonymous artistic interventions in the woods near Torre Baro, three surprises for the occasional passerby. Three gestures prepared for anonymous interpretation, without any documentation or graphic testimony, will only exist for each individual viewer and subjected to the action of time and, perhaps, to the habitual vandalism of the metropolis, they will remain as a dream memory for them.
At dawn the fatigue is evident, but instead of staying in Paquita's apartment, they decide to visit quickly, pick up laptops and external devices, minimal luggage and take the first bus. Directly at those hours and practically empty, the complicity of the driver allows the work to start now. Funds and texts are prepared and this 1918 Tent begins to take shape.
- Et pereat mundus! exclaims Dorita as dawn breaks in Bages, she smiles at her Paquita and draws a heart on the glass.
-Cursi gesture, there is no doubt, it is, but we already have the title, whispers Jose Carlos from the back seat.
