From the outset, Soto, accepting our proposal to dedicate a second volume to his series of interior photographs, those nocturnal ones that he took for several years in his most intimate circle in an almost indefatigable manner, did not want to limit himself to making a secondary selection of the material that had been left pending in their pre-selection folders. He asked, first of all, for a couple of weeks to finish his work in Carpa 3098 and thus, patiently review the rest of his photographic archive because, as he told us, a lot of usable material had been forgotten in his externals. Weeks ago and due to the alarm caused by the deterioration of some supports, he made the dumps with excessive haste and many images had been archived randomly.
He did not demand too many changes with respect to the previous issue, he asked that the introductions be eliminated or, better said, that they be renewed and that no annexes be included. He considered that it would not make much sense to pluck and recolor before feathering again (another of those picturesque expressions of the author that are apparently contradictory but visually impressive and that amuse us so much in our writing). That if, just in case, I request that the layout not be closed until the last minute because as, all our readers know, the author is prone to get carried away by his intuitions and once started with the uploads you never know where it will lead the choral dialogue that is established from that moment. Although the author wants to give this project total independence from the previous one, he knows that the closed theme of this series prevents certain changes. In these snapshots, we will meet again with the protagonists of 1812, the same places and situations lovingly dissected by the author will appear again in brilliant black and white. Some colorful brushstrokes will accompany us, but the poetic magazine after 12 years will continue to move us as if we were contemplating, for the first time, his photographs.
