Shipping containers come in various types and sizes to accommodate different cargo needs. The most common are standard dry containers in 20-foot and 40-foot lengths. 20-foot containers have an internal volume of about 33 cubic meters and can carry up to 28,000 kg, while 40-foot containers have 67 cubic meters of space and a payload capacity around 26,000-28,000 kg. High cube containers offer extra height. Specialized types include refrigerated containers, open-top containers for top-loading, flat rack containers for oversized cargo, and tank containers for liquids. Container sizes are typically expressed in feet, with 1 TEU equaling a 20-foot container.
