Wicket Does an "E" Ya Later
http://twitter.com/chrispirillo - At the end of every one of my videos, I hold up three fingers and say "We'll 'e' ya later!"

I've probably told this story before, but just in case you were wondering (and didn't want to dig any deeper)...

This sign-off started in 2001 when I was hosting my own show on WHO Radio (AM 1040 out of Des Moines, IA). I was trying to think of something fun to say at the end of my first broadcast - a signature, so to speak. Without much thinking, I just said it... and that was that.

Ya know, instead of saying "See you later" - I turned it into something a bit more geeky. In those days, every other word had an 'e' in front of it: eMail, eCommerce, eWhatever.

I took it with me to TechTV - only I added something to the mix. Why hold up three fingers? Back in the day, a CTRL+ALT+DEL would initate a Windows reboot (which would happen quite frequently in Windows 9x). This was also known as a "three-finger salute." Get the picture? Yeah, I'm THAT geeky.

When I started doing videos regularly on YouTube, CoffeeHouseSchmuck asked why I didn't say "We'll 'e' ya later" at the end of my videos. I decided to oblige his request and...

Now you know.

And knowing is half the battle.
