Feb 28Hi People, I've uploaded two more sets of photos. I understand that it is still cold where some of you are, so use discretion when looking at the ones where I am on the beach. Photo's I took while as an assistant guide. Petra and I visited the geologically active area of White Island. There's 154 more photo's that I didn't upload. Utterly Surreal. For the past 4 weeks I was an assistant guide. Pretty much the greatest job ever. Chill out, tell people where the ATM's and washrooms are, and travel around beautiful New Zealand. It was an excellent experience. Lots of people wrote that that I was an excellent guide on the feedback form. I loved it. For the next 4 weeks I am the exclusive guide for Petra. Today we went took a boat out to White Island. There is a lot of rock slides and sulphuric gas on the island so hard hats and breathing masks are the order of the day. It was a completely surreal experience to be on the island. Steam being released from the earth and the color of the ground. Very, very cool. Tomorrow we are heading out to Rotorua. We spend one day there before heading out to a 3 day river trip. Lot's of hiking is planned after that. I'll keep you posted on that. We've rented a car and driving on the other side of the road is an wicked experience. Bungy jumps have nothing on roundabouts or starting a manual up a hill while a BMW is behind you.
