The Queen Charlotte Track lies at the top of the south island. Named after the kings wife when Cook discovered new zealand. It is very rad.
It took us 3 days of biking to complete the 77km track. 900 vertical meters of pushing on day two, with techinical downhill sections. Petra took a bad fall on day one but pressed on. Our bags were water taxi'd from camp to camp, so we just carried water and lunch with us. The day after the track we drove all day to our campsite south of christchurch. It was night when we arrived, but it was a full moon and the sky was full of stars. We decided it wouldn't rain so we camped out under the stars. It did rain, and we spent the rest of the night in the car. Once morning hit us, we finished the 941km drive to Invercargill. Pretty, scenic, beautiful and utterly insane to do that in 2 days.
