it gives me goosebumps to think how many civilizations have seen these columns... very nice composition

You do have a point there... However it had been lost for some years until they were rediscovered. It is said that these columns, as well as the pyramids were buried under sand for some time.

and maybe being buried for that long is what has preserved them 'till these days... i wish i could go to Egypt one day! you were lucky to be there :)
