Iron in Chicken Breast
Chicken breast is not an exceptional source of iron in the meat world. The iron in chicken breast will provide a woman with about 2% of her daily iron requirement in a one hundred gram serving (about 3 1/2 ounces). Dark meat chicken has more than three times that amount of iron; duck has nearly eight times that amount. Chicken breast is tasty and is consumed by many people because of its low fat content, but for iron, there are other meats that make a bigger contribution. |
