in mexico san martin de porres is quite popular! known as "el santo de la escoba" (the saint w/the broom) as he's represented in his icons, with a broom and a cross, he's the patron of barbers, hairdressers, small children and small animals like rabbits & squirrels, and very miraculous when it comes to 'small causes' (?) like lost objects or pets :) gotta confess that my mom prays his 'novena' (9 days of different prayers all focus to the same saint)
