![]() last of the red
the new owners have apparently decided the shade of red no good and have covered every sq inch of the building w/epecially stinky primer white. the red that covered my apt door, that i inexplicably swooned over and chuckled at every single time i put the key in, is gone. dunno what is slated to replace. a quick article on my new overlords popped up in the new york times the other day... |

As for the article--jeezus. Bloody appalling. Shame you've had first hand experience with these tactics.

if you can stand a bit more reading, this article is a lot clearer on how private equity has entered this market and why. capital gains vs. a long term profit is at the heart, and of course this is tied up in the same great big 'securitization' mess that's left tens (hundreds almost?) of thousands of michiganders homeless and countless across the country. it's a pretty ugly situation, but the investors don't seem to mind and the fed gov't, after recently opening the floodgates for expressly this purpose, don't seem to even acknowledge the problem...
