death of a bookstore 21/50 - astor place barnes & noble - basement.
the 'intellectual' part of the store, which meant, of course, all the junkies gravitated here. and the theives. and the strange, resilient, and ultimately most hard-core employees(re tiny tim - god bless each and every one of them, especially ed (and terri too)). and they loved it. for the quietest part of the store, it surely had the most action. and 'new age' was down here. the lectures you'd hear coming outta there..well, i'm starting to ramble on
