me, a relative newbie to the store three years ago, asked once where the door by the magazines with the padlocks leads to. no one could answer - found the oldest veterans and the highest ups, and nobody knew. unscrewed the lock from the door and found an oddly angled room filled with asbestos and a creeepy ghost elevator. here she is |

And I'll bet the ghost elevator knows what's in the old safe--same thing that's in the elevator: stories.
I think the safe and elev are the building's archivists.
