john ellis quartet at iridium -
saw him for the first time at a gig for the new school university, and while having no idea he was from the south, i could swear i heard the swamp boogie and joy of dr. john, the loneliness and angst of the delta blues singers, and hot days dusty roads tall grass all wrapped up in his unique and accessible music (that's on the whole lots more upbeat than i just made it sound, i realize) this was another great show, with an immensely talented band. check it out... http://www.johnaxsonellis.com/livemusic.htm |
