Converted from RAW with Ufraw; processed in Gimp with fairly careful B&W channel mix. Fairly heavily modified editorial content to remove distracting elements and adjust composition. Selective motion blur added at end.

Probably not really worth the effort since the image isn't all that hot!

I really love that picture because of its lovely composition. The way, the light of the sun reflects, shows that snow are cristals and gives this picture a nice athmosphere.

Maybe the grass could be turned into black to enhance the contrast.

Definitely worth the effort. The interplay of the all those small, scintillating highlights in the snow with the calm, stretched shadows is wonderful.
