The Mawddach waterfall pool. The building just out of shot on the left was the store for the mercury. It discharged 7 tons into the pool when the mill burnt down. All the gold found at this spot and around was covered in mercury. Just thirty feet away on the right was where the 2 oz and 2.25 oz nuggets were found. Plus in the middle of the river in a sink hole in 50ft deep 100 oz of gold in mercury was found by American divers. In 1989 Cambridge University Diving club dived this pool for a result of two ounces in a afternoon.
