Kildonan Gold River
This is having climbed over the hump to the top left. We are looking along the gorge to the Kildonan waterfall hidden in the deep shade. This kilometre stretch is one of the most popular with most people. There are lots of places for getting dots and goldflakes. Its been well done and very patchy but because you can get a spot still producing a flake or a few dots per pan still very popular. Warning thought dont think that just because your just over the hill from the tents caravans ect your not in wilderness. I encountered a Adder a hundred yards away up the hill from this spot on the track.Dogs do get killed by the bites!!!!! On the furthest bank just out of shot are rings of stones from bronze age dwellings.
