Glenimshaw burn entering the Mennock. Its a minor gold burn with gold flakes in it but it is a major supplier of the magnetite to the Mennock. In fact there is a major commercial magnetite vein crossing the burn . Would be commercial if this was not land owned by the Duke of Buccleuch.
Intrestingly this juncture between the two rivers draws goldpanners like a magnet and ive seen ten major holes dug to bottom at this exact point over the years. |
