It is really sad that the city is unable to afford several 100s of lights as a joyful service to the many tax-paying citizens these days, and is relying on the presence of adverts in the festive decoration of public places... It seems that this isn't about to change anytime soon:(

You see, this CENTRAL street of Sofia looks a bit like a tunnel. Or maybe my camera is not able to catch the lamps which are so high... :)
Anyway, dark or not, with or without adverts, I like Sofia at this time of the year ;)

Hehe -- I remember that I have expressed such an opinion last year as well, so it's perhaps not connected with aging;) But who knows... I have not much experience with getting older, though:P

Uhoh, I can understand you very well..

The city of Berlin never has any money and they are always fighting and people are already making fun of it.
Last year, they discussed if they should turn off the christmals lights to save money..

There is a small ... aaa, island which separates the two main roads. I was standing there and even I use the traffic sign as a monopod :D
