can you believe this creature is 40-50 years old? no wonder lobster is that pricey

Euz: no they live in the ocean, free as a lobster can be, they are kept in capitivity only for a few weeks after being caught, usually not more than two weeks, they need very cold and fresh sea water to live in. But to grow this big (about 1400 g, I think) they need to live 40-50 years.

We were told that there are 6 kilo lobsters, which are about 100 years old or even older.

nellyb: I haven't eaten lobster so far. But this guy came all the way from Canada and probably wouldn't make it back alive, it would be a waste to not eat him
