round Sardinian eggplants, seen at a market

I wish we could get different kinds of aubergine in England. Here it's purple or nothing!

you can try Asian stores, they have small white and small green eggplants, tiny purple Japanese and sometimes tiny round yellow and the pea-sized greenish ones.

The aubergines above are rare on our markets, too, I saw these at a stall on my favorite market which is well-known for the broad variety of sppecial heirloom veggies, as you can see on the "previous' pic with the tomatoes.

I am still looking for the purple-and-white-striped eggplants which seem to be ubiquitous in Greece...

I didn't know that you could get pea-sized ones! Do all these varieties taste much the same?

most taste similar, the pea-sized is rather tart, crisp and slightly bitter.
