There is a band in Canada called the Rheostatics. One of the members of this band rediscovered hockey and wrote a few books about the sport froma very different perspective.

The book I've quoted is "Tropic of Hockey" (subtitled: "The search for the Game in Unlikely Places") and is about the feeling many fans have when a big game is going to be played later on. The mania some people feel about football this time of year is close to how many used to feel about the Stanley Cup playoffs in Canada.

梧 桐 is very close, actually, since the book is primarily about a tour of the world looking for hockey as it is played in many countries you would not expect it to be played. Apparently there is a fair amount of hockey history in central China. Who knew?
