Thanks. Shooting film again has been interesting. I'm finding there is almost no technical challenge for getting the right exposures. I mostly concentrate on bracketing, composing and trying to keep my fat fingers out of the frame.

This one could be be tweaked a little more to bring out the detail in the foreground. I wonder about that light fall-off in the corners, too. It makes for a nice effect, but maybe I should try to pick up some other lenses on eBay. A bright 50mm would be nice for vacation snaps like this.

But, if I've learned anything shooting film on the dead-simple K1000 again, it's that the photographer is still the most important equipment you can maintain.

Not that I don't desire a Nikon D700, of course.

Well on Sunday I finally picked up my brand new Canon 40D and I'm Thrilled with a capital T. My last SLR has bee my Nikon FE-2 which I love to this day.

Yes to the 50mm! My next lens is a 50, 1.4 that will let me take existing light photos in pitch black (almost). Can't wait for that!

But truly, this new camera is now letting me stretch out like I've always wanted to artistically and I'm getting back into photography like never before because of it. I was definitely feeling the limitations of the Powershot A620 up to now. Now I can really run up against my own limits as an artist . . . time to get creating!

Yeah, sometimes you reach the limit of your equipment. This was the main reason that I bought my Nikon.
