IR Tuesday
Experiments in IR, part II.
Attempts at hiding the flaw in plain view, or using it to advantage. Lots of flare to play with in this camera, and a lot of flare hides the hotspot. Many of the shots were taken with the lens wide-open, which really diffuses the hotspot, and makes it sort of glow. One challenge running wide open to mitigate the IR hotspot: accurate focus at the widest focal length is hard to get right using an LCD panel in full daylight. At smaller apertures the shots are sharp, sharp, sharp. But so is the hotspot. The hotspot itself has a tiny flaw in it at high resolutions. Creative cropping does the rest.
