We all want our children to have the best opportunities and experiences in life. We all want them to grow up to be intelligent well adjusted adults. It seems t hat everywhere you go and everywhere you look you come across someone who has the absolute answer to help us help your children achieve this. I have a few tips to share with you to add to your already overflowing tool box of tricks to help you through the rearing years.
A lot of people here speculate that some beggars, children and adults, work for the syndicate, which is a criminal organization that employs the less fortunate to beg for and sometimes steal money. That would explain the reluctance most people have when giving to the poor. They figure it won't go to food or clothing, but to the greedy crime lords and gangsters. That was also my husband's sentiments at that time.
Rags To Riches. I know you guys remember this one. Joseph Bologna played Nick Foley, a hard-nosed business man who decided to soften his image by adopting children. He ends up with six orphan girls of different ages and cultural backgrounds, but he had no idea the trouble he was getting himself into. This was a musical. The girls were so funny and likeable. Among others, Tisha Campbell also starred in the movie as one of Nick Foley's adopted daughters. There was a television spinoff that only lasted two seasons. Not much thought on this cast either, but I think that Eric McCormack would make a great Nick Foley.
But, anyway, there we were, Foster Parents and we were doing the things all new and excited Foster Parents do...we were waiting. Actually, as I recall my wife was doing all of the waiting and I was still trying to finish remodeling what would be the bedroom of any future children. Everyday she'd call from work and ask if anyone from Foster Care had called about a placement. After about two weeks of me splitting my home remodel duties with that of phone call awaiter, they called. And when they did call they called my wife at work instead of our home phone which I'd been so dutifully observing and listening for - so, that annoyed me a bit, but it's neither here nor there...just saying.
There are so many ways to find an adoption agency. Just choose the one that is best for you. Don't stop looking until you find the perfect one because this is a wonderful life decision.
