The Dochula Druk Wangyel festival started on the year 2011 and will be celebrated on 13th of December every year at the Druk Wangyel Lakhangs Festival ground. This festival is based on some important national landmarks while the date reminds the emergence of the military expedition of 2003. The festivals most magnificent modern Bhutanese monuments and both the monuments were build as a tribute to the wise leadership of the Wangchuk dynasty in general, and the temple was build under the vision and patronage of Her Majesty Ashi Dorji Wangmo Wanghuck, a year after she build the 108 Druk WangyelChortens.
