Google Quietly Acquired +.com on Domain Name Aftermarket
Google recently quietly made what I would call a "significant" domain name, plus dot com (+.com) (the plus symbol dot com). This is an IDN domain name. The problem is that +.com, aka xn--dra.com is not allowed. It's an illegal domain name under the current IDNA2008 rules. In fact, pretty soon, that character will not be technially allowed in the .com TLD. This as spawned quite the controversy on how verisign will handle IDNs in the .COM TLD. Read more about what Domain News has to say about this IDN .com domain name.
