Agencies cringe when their clients say that they want you to generate something with buzz. You know, something that will go viral on the social media websites. The challenge is that the client wants something that will generate online buzz that will be on target, will be very engaging, and memorable: they want to increase sales, not generate something that is crazy. Well, I can tell you honestly that there are literally dozens and dozens of executions of marketing campaigns that went viral, but very few examples of online marketing campaigns that actually moved the needle towards the brand's ultimate marketing objectives: increase sales. |
